Relics of Robert Moses

Back in the early 1960’s, transportation czar Robert Moses had plans to erect a new highway running parallel to the Staten Island Expressway along the southern shore of the island. Over 40 years later, the old overpasses that were designed to link ramps to the existing Expressway remained abandoned until the New York State Department of Transportation set plans to demolish the structures and make way for a new and improved highway.
